The purpose of the BUILD team is to support the connection to one another through employee communication and appreciation along with providing opportunities that ignite a desire to give back to our communities. The latest program developed by BUILD is expressly focused on employee appreciation that is common across all Reed Family Companies and that supports the existing appreciation programs of the individual companies. The team began by meeting with the representatives from each of the companies to understand existing appreciation programs and events. A common desire of each of the companies was to simply recognize that what you do each and every day at work is important, and that you make a difference with your dedication to a job well done.
This year, as part of BUILD’s company-wide Recognition Initiative, we had the pleasure of handing out Years of Service Hard Hat Stickers at most companies' holiday parties or end-of-seaons events. We expect this program to be fully implemented for all employees as the construction season starts again next year.
In addition to individual company logos, the sticker design includes the distinctive laurel wreath which was the prize for the winner at the ancient Olympic games. Like the Olympic prizes, increasing years of service progress from white to gold metallic color. The words on the stickers also are also reminiscent of the Reed Family Company’s S.E.R.V.I.C.E. principles. The stickers have a distinctive black border so they are readily distinguishable from other stickers worn on hard hats. Recognizing that some employees do not have hard hats, acrylic gem cut desk paperweights are available upon which to display these stickers. The Years of Service Stickers Program provides an annual opportunity to say, “Thank You for Your Service!”
To all employees, whether you have worked a few days or for decades, your continued dedication is imperative to the Reed Family Company’s daily success.
