The Sustainability Team at The Reed Family Companies (RFC) has successfully completed a comprehensive analysis of our Green House Gas emissions (GHG) and environmental impacts.
The Stewardship Report primarily focuses on three core areas: greenhouse gas emissions, recycled material usage, and water consumption. Below are some notable achievements from our companies in these areas over the past year:
7/11 Materials Inc. – Carbon Cure

CarbonCure creates technologies that introduce captured CO₂ into fresh concrete to reduce its carbon footprint, without compromising performance. Once injected, the CO₂ mineralizes and becomes permanently embedded in the concrete.
George Reed Inc. – Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) Usage
GRI incorporates RAP into their HMA plants. This reduces the amount of virgin materials that are used in our process while also reducing the amount of waste that goes to local landfills.
VSS Emultech – New Low-NOx Boiler

In 2024, VSS replaced a 30 ppm NOx boiler with a 15 ppmv NOx boiler. This effectively reduces NOx emissions by half for this process.
At RFC, we fully recognize the vital role we play in environmental stewardship. We are committed to the sustained well-being of our employees, customers, community, and the environment. Our dedication extends beyond day-to-day operations, as we continually strive to uphold our responsibility as leaders in fostering positive and sustainable changes for the future.
