Updated: Aug 21, 2023

We would like to recognize Rick Stamps, plant operator at Table Mountain Quarry. Rick has been doing an outstanding job operating the plant. Rick pushes the plant to increase production every day, especially Type II Slurry. Rick consistently makes suggestions on changes that increase Type II Slurry production, a high demand product at TMQ. In addition to his performance, Rick brings an awesome attitude to work every day. Rick does a great job updating plant notes in his daily journal, which tracks plant changes, screen changes, crusher liner changes, etc.

Rick is a great example of the George Reed S-E-R-V-I-C-E Principles, both at work and at home. To highlight one Principle, Rick exemplifies C – Caring for our People, Customers, Communities and Environment. Rick volunteers as a martial arts instructor and has been a youth ministry leader in the local community for five years. Rick is currently caring for his grandmother, who is going through chemo and radiation therapy. Rick and his wife also help take care of his autistic brother-in-law.

Rick started working at Table Mountain Quarry on June 13, 2016. Prior to becoming Plant Operator, Rick operated the Water Truck, Haul Truck, Floor Loader, Quarry Loader, Excavator with Hammer for sorting Rip Rap. Rick also worked at the Hot Plant as a Ground Guy and Operator during the HWY 108 Project from Jamestown to Oakdale (182,400 tons HMA). Rick’s last position was Plant Ground Guy before moving up to Plant Operator. Rick has been the Plant Operator for approximately 5 years. Rick would like to advance his career with George Reed with positions with more responsibility. Prior to joining George Reed, Rick worked at Sierra Pacific Industries as a laborer, sorter chaser, trimmer operator, training for relief man.

Rick was born in Santa Cruz, then moved to Tuolumne County at age 5. Rick and his family currently live in Jamestown. Rick graduated from Sonora High School, Class of 2013. Rick has a lot of hobbies that include hunting, dirt bike riding, and fixing and flipping motorcycles and cars. Rick’s favorite hobby is body building. Rick is already a National Qualified Body Builder, and working toward his pro card. A pro card would bring in more sponsors. What brings Rick the most joy is spending time with his wife and 18-month-old daughter. Rick looks forward to spending vacation time with his family and extended family.

Thank you for your contribution, Rick!
