The City of Stockton celebrated the successful completion of the Miner Ave project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 16, 2022.
The project turned out to be successful, thanks in part, to the initial partnering approach from City of Stockton, Salaber Associates (CM) and George Reed that set the tone for the life of the project. Hard work and dedication from all GRI crews contributed to the success of the project.
Miner Avenue, an $18M project, was the largest GRI project for the 2021 year. The project consisted of a full street reconstruction that expanded over a mile, from Center Street to Aurora Street.
The focal point of the project is the roundabout constructed at San Joaquin Street.
The project includes new sidewalks with handicap ramps, fully landscaped medians, one traffic lane in each direction with bike lane and buffer zone, as well as parking stalls for the local shops and businesses, updated sewer and storm drain systems throughout, along with added streetlights and traffic signal modernization.
