Empowerment: An Invitation to Life-Long Learning

Our S.E.R.V.I.C.E. principles state that “E = Empowering our teams through trust, respect, communication, autonomy, training, and development.” Empowerment means having the authority and freedom to do our jobs to the best of our abilities and to adapt to different situations as they arise.

On May 30th, 2023, 19 students became the fourth class to graduate from our leadership development course called “Managing Oneself: Empowering Others”. These students learned that expanding their own skills and knowledge is one of the effective pathways toward their own empowerment. Learning helps us all become better versed and prepared in our fields. In turn, we can become continuous learners, ever growing, and sharing our skills and knowledge with others. A variety of appropriate training is available throughout the Reed Family Companies to expand capabilities, which in turn facilitates opportunities for both individual and company growth. Investing in and facilitating the ongoing growth of our team members is one of the ways in which we demonstrate our commitment to the S.E.R.V.I.C.E. principle of Empowerment.

To encourage employees to engage in self-directed learning at their own pace, we provide access to on-line training through Reed Interactive University. To find out more about this invitation to pursue your own individual learning goals, please contact your Human Resources representative.
