Celebrating Innovation: STEPP Manufacturing's New Patent

BUILD Team

Updated: Oct 1, 2024

In line with our October focus on innovation, we are thrilled to highlight a significant achievement by our team at STEPP Manufacturing Co., Inc. Recently, STEPP received approval for a US patent for the invention entitled HEATABLE HOSE ASSEMBLY FOR ASPHALT REPAIR AND METHODS OF USE. STEPP was experiencing many warranty claims around the heated hose purchased from a third party.  The failure of the hose resulted in unplanned downtime for the customer and additional costs to STEPP to repair or replace this hose. This groundbreaking invention allows for the heating element to be replaced without disassembly of the hose from the asphalt kettle, making the work easier and more efficient for the operator.  This replacement can be done in the field, saving time and money.

Doug Hogue, President of Reed International, expressed his pride, stating, “We are proud of the spirit of continuous innovation in our equipment manufacturing business”.

This patent is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, particularly Shane Stepp, whose innovative thinking and commitment to excellence have made this achievement possible. The new heated hose assembly is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of asphalt repair operations, showcasing our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions to our customers.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also recognize the collaborative efforts of various departments that contributed to this success. The development of this patent involved close cooperation between our engineering, sales, and operations teams, highlighting the power of teamwork and innovation at STEPP Manufacturing.

Congratulations to Shane Stepp and the entire team at STEPP Manufacturing for this remarkable accomplishment. Your dedication to innovation continues to drive our company forward and set new standards in the industry.
