Brett Durfey, Equipment Manager

BUILD Team

Updated: Oct 1, 2023

"Necessity is the mother of invention." Large aggregates, commonly known as Rip Rap, have been in extreme demand in recent months due to the storm battered state of California. The necessity to produce even more Rip Rap is what motivated Brett Durfey, GRI Equipment Manager, to invest in alternative equipment to supplement existing Rip Rap production. Having been involved in historical discussions and being integral in the operation for many years, Brett realized the right tool for the job was to use a shank attachment for the excavator in order to peel off loosely intact aggregate from the Table Mountain Pit. Brett’s initiative and willingness to try something new is an example of “Innovation”, the “I” in our company S.E.R.V.I.C.E. Principles. Thank you, Brett!
